Mr Kofi Opoku-Manu, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has said the government would not relent in its rural development programmes.
He has, therefore, stressed the need for people to shun their political ideologies and contribute positively towards community development projects.
Mr. Opoku-Manu was addressing separate fund raising harvests organized by the chiefs and people of New Edubiase and Asante Bekwai on Easter Sunday to support their development projects.
While the people of new Edubiase were mobilizing funds for the construction of a chief's palace, the chiefs and people of Bekwai organized the harvest to support the on-going Gyamfi park rehabilitation project and a scholarship award scheme for needy students.
The Minister commended the chiefs of the two traditional areas for their leadership initiatives and expressed the hope that the youth would support to ensure early completion of the projects.
He called on the people to bury their political differences and remain united as one people with a common aspiration and work hard to bring more development projects to the area.
Nana Asirifi Asare II, Krontihene of the Edubiase Divisional Council, said 120,000 Ghana cedis had been spent on the project that was started about 15 years ago.
