Opinion leaders in Ashaiman have appealed to the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly members to confirm Mr Adinotey Addison Numo as the Municipal.
The opinion leaders made up of representatives of the Ashaiman Traditional Council, Market Traders Association, Ga Dangme Movement and National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth described the nominee as a hardworking person whose contribution made the NDC win overwhelming in Ashaiman constituency.
The appeal was contained in a statement signed by the opinion leaders on Monday.
The statement said Mr Numo, a 45-year-old educationist and proprietor of Oxford Preparatory School, played a leading role as a deputy youth organizer of the NDC at Ashaiman, branch secretary, a loyal polling agent, an assembly member and served on various committees.
The opinion leaders commended President John Atta Mills for nominating Mr Numo and said he would work diligently to ensure accelerated development in Ashaiman.
The statement appealed those opposed to the nomination to bury all differences and support Mr Numo to develop the area.
