Vote counting in the 2008 Presidential Election Runoff began at various polling stations immediately polling ended at 1700 hours in the 144 polling centres of Tain Constituency in Brong Ahafo Region.
A total of 54,718 registered voters were expected to cast their votes. Some of the early results were: Methodist Primary School Polling Centre at Nkonakwagya; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of New Patriotic Party (NPP) obtained 27 votes as against 292 votes of Professor John Evans Atta Mills of National Democratic Congress (NDC).
At the Nsawkaw Health Centre Polling Station, Nana Akufo-Addo garnered 68 votes while Prof Mills bagged 355 votes.
At Nawasa Local Authority School, Nana Akufo-Addo got nine votes compared to 127 votes of Prof. Mills.
