At Ashaiman Presbyterian School polling station in the Ashaiman Constituency, voting started at exactly 0720 hours as a result of the late arrival of election materials.
Mr. Raphael Donya, the Presiding Officer for the station said they were late because the vehicle supposed to convey them to the station did not arrive on time.
"We want you to bear with us for the vehicle did not come on time. We will try our best to finish by 1700 hours", he said.
There was law and order at the polling station as at 1125 hours. Out of the 1,117 registered voters, 400 had cast their votes.
Some identification problems were encountered, as some voters did not have their names in the voter's register.
Others who transferred their votes to the Ashaiman Presbyterian School polling station and could not find their names were made to give the officials their details and were allowed to vote.
Sam Fordjour, a voter said he liked the way the voting was going and all he wanted was to keep his preferred candidate in power.
At Ajumako-Besease in the Central Region, voting delayed at most polling stations due to late arrival of voting materials from Ajumako, the district headquarters.
The Presiding Officer, Mr Kwesi Yankson at the Methodist Polling Station told the Ghana News Agency that 53 out of the 370 registered voters cast their vote as at 0730 hours.
Forty out of the 518 registered voters at the Methodist Primary "B" Polling Station in the Nyantsia Electoral Area had cast their vote as at 0740 hours when the GNA visited.
While at the Methodist Primary "A" Polling Station 83 people out of the 552 registered voters had cast their vote as at 0830 hours.
At the Anglican Primary "B" Polling Station in the Bantama Electoral Area 88 out of the total registered voters had cast their vote as 0840 hours.
The Anglican Primary "A" Polling Station recorded 153 out the total registered voters cast their vote as at 0855 hours.
Most of the polling stations visited had only party agents from the New Patriot Party (NPP and National Democratic Congress (NDC).
At Ablekuma Central Constituency, there were long queues with complaints of absence of voter transfer list at some polling stations.
The Returning Officer had to ask voters to either wait for it to be brought or go home and return later in the day.
At 1030 hours GNA spotted the official of the Electoral Commission distributing the voter transfer list to some poling stations in the constituency who had not received theirs.
The Returning Officer Mr Akwetey Amannoh at the New Abossey Okai Polling Centres A and B said voting started at exactly 0700.
At the Mataheho 2 Boys' School voting started 0748 hours. The returning Officer Raphael Appiah said all was well but they were still waiting for the voter transfer list so that voters would not be disenfranchised.
The People's Shop Polling Centre Presiding Officer Mohammed Muktar said voting started at 0700 hours prompt but refused to give the exact number of voters who had voted when GNA got there at 10:15 am.
Voters at the Old Most Holy Heart School who had been asked to wait for the Voter Transfer List to be brought were asked to join the queue when officials of the EC brought the list at 1020 hours.
Returning Officer Nelson Adzokatse told the GNA that there were no security personnel at the centre but voters were cooperating for the smooth running of affairs.
At the Gaskia Cinema Centre, a large number of people with disabilities were being attended to with their able bodied aides to cast their votes even though some voters complained about it.
Daniel Ansah, Returning Officer, complained about the absence of the Voter Transfer list but noted that all was well.
At Awutu-Beraku in the Central Region, voting at polling stations in the Awutu-Senya constituency started smoothly and peacefully on voting time at 0700 hours.
As at 1000 hours when the Ghana News Agency got to the Awutu Council Office Polling Station, 295 out of a total registered number of 1403 had cast their votes.
At the Tayano Polling Station, Mr Kojo Amissah, Presiding Officer said 282 out the 669 registered voters, had cast their vote as at 1013 hours.
Party Agents from the National Democratic congress, New Patriot Part and the Convention Peoples Party were present as that station.
At Wa, hundreds of voters in the Wa Central constituency and other parts of the Upper West Region defied the dry and cold hammattan morning and queued as early as 0600 hours to cast their ballots.
Apart from a minor incident at the Dobile Catholic Primary School polling station in the Wa Central Constituency where an NPP polling agent attempted to prevent a suspected minor from voting and was nearly manhandled by some voters in the queue, the mood of voters had so far been calm.
There was a long queue of about 400 voters at the Dobile Catholic Primary polling station in the queue calmly waiting for their turn to cast their ballots when the GNA got there at 1000 hours and out of the 1,420 registered voters at the centre, 155 had cast their ballots.
Over 100 voters queued before 0600 hours at Kperisi.
At sombo Catholic Primary School polling station in the Nadowli West constituency, 194 people had voted by 0940 hours
The Wa central mosque polling station recorded 262 voters as at 1020 hours out of a total voting population of 774.
Mr Saed Abdul Mumuni, the presiding officer at that centre, commended voters for the comportment they had so far exhibited and was confident that the exercise would end smoothly.
Police officers and personnel of the other security Agencies in Wa were spotted in some of the polling stations appealing to voters on the need for them to comport themselves so that the exercise would be conducted in peace.
Mr Azaria Kuunpiel, Presiding officer of the Limanyiri 'A' polling centre, which is a major flash point in the Wa central Constituiecy, said no incident had been recorded in the centre and he was optimistic that the situation would remain calm.
The New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress had Agents in all the Polling stations, while the Convention People's Party and the Democratic Freedom Party had agents in only some of them.
At Kabanye Junior High School polling station in the Wa Central Constituency, 89 people out of the 620 registered voters had voted as at 0715 hours and two disabled persons were among those who had cast their votes.
Eighty-three people out of 880 registered voters had exercised their franchise at the Wa District Labour Office Polling Station at 0826 hours while at Wa Centre Prison Polling Station 55 people out of the 423 registered voters also cast their votes as at 0831 hours.
At Adonis Cinema Palace Polling Station, out of the 693 registered voters, 138 people had cast their votes as at 0847 ahours with 153 people out of the 533 registered voters voting at the Museums and Monument Board Polling Station "B" at 0857 hours.
One hundred and six (106) out the 511 registered voters had voted at the Museums and Monument Board Polling Station "A" as at 0900 hours.
Also at the Environmental Health Office Polling Station "A" 217 people out of 820 registered voters voted at 0907 hours while 110 people out of 684 registered voters at the Environmental Health Office Polling Station "B" exercised their franchise as at 0918 hours.
One disabled person was among those who voted at the Environmental Health Office Polling Station "B".
In all the Polling Stations that the GNA visited the various political parties were well represented by their agents .
