Mr Thomas Mawueli Malm, Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Association of the Blind (GAB) on Friday appealed to polling agents who would be on duty during the December 7 elections to assist the blind to vote smoothly.
He also appealed to the voting public to be patient with the blind so as not to confuse them.
Mr Malm made the appeal at a workshop organized by GAB for its members drawn from the Ho Municipal area in Ho, on the use of the tactile ballot papers.
The tactile ballot paper enables the visually impaired to vote independently by touching to verify the symbols.
Mr Malm said the GAB had appealed to the Electoral Commission to fix the ballot papers into the jacket so that it does not cause any inconvenience to its members.
He told the participants that EC had assured them that the visually impaired and the blind would be given priority at all the polling stations.
Mr. Eric Ofori, Volta Regional Coordinator of GAB appealed to members of the association to turn out in their numbers to cast their votes.
