The Women's Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has embarked on an educational tour of all the 38 constituencies to educate its members on the achievements, policies and programmes of the government, so that they could in turn spread the message to others.
The Party has so far toured constituencies, which include Asokwa, Subin, Obuasi, Offinso North and South.
Mrs Mary Brobbey, Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser of the NPP, disclosed this, when addressing over 300 women of the Asawasi constituency in the Kumasi metropolis on Sunday.
She said the NPP, since its six-year rule had achieved a lot towards the improvement of the socio-economic and political developments of the country.
Mrs Brobbey noted that the government through its good governance had created the current democratic dispensation and had ensured stability, peace and development of the country.
She mentioned some of the government's achievements as the introduction of the capitation grant and feeding system in schools, resulting in increase in enrolments, provision of school blocks, roads and hospitals in many places had improved the living conditions of the people.
She also said the government's mass cocoa spraying exercise to support farmers had increased cocoa production to boost foreign exchange earnings and improved the incomes of farmers.
Mrs Brobbey advised them to exercise their franchise in the upcoming district assembly elections and vote for people of good calibre to represent them in the assemblies.
Mr Peter Otchere, Chairman of the Asawasi constituency of the Party said most women groups supported with loans to expand their businesses since last year had not as yet repaid the loans.
He, therefore, urged them to ensure that the loans were redeemed to enable other women groups to benefit from it.
