Team USA stormed to victory in the mixed 4x400m relay final at the World Athletics Championships, successfully defending their crown with a championship record time of 3:08.80.
The quartet of Bryce Deadmon, Lynna Irby-Jackson, Jenoah McKiver, and Alexis Holmes — dominated the race from start to finish, finishing more than a second ahead of a strong Dutch team anchored by Femke Bol.
Belgium claimed the bronze medal, clocking 3:10.61.
The win marked a statement performance from the Americans, who were narrowly beaten by the Netherlands in a dramatic finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Since then, Team USA has reasserted its dominance, including a commanding victory at the World Relays earlier this year.
In Tokyo, the Americans built a slim lead over the first two legs. McKiver extended the gap on the third, before Holmes brought it home in emphatic fashion.
