World number one Aryna Sabalenka stormed into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open with a routine win over Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.
The 6-1 7-5 victory was Sabalenka's 50th win on the WTA Tour this year - eight more than nearest challenger Iga Swiatek.
The Belarusian, who beat British number one Emma Raducanu in the last round, will continue her title defence when she faces ninth seed Elena Rybakina in the last eight.
Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion from Kazakhstan, rallied from a set down to beat Australian Open winner Madison Keys 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 6-2.
This year's Wimbledon champion Swiatek also made it through to the last eight with a 6-4 6-3 win against Sorana Cirstea.
The world number three, of Poland, hit 33 unforced errors against the Romanian but managed to complete her match before the rain delay.
"I wanted to be more solid than in my last match," Swiatek said. "I'm happy with the level of my focus and the consistency.
"It was a good match for sure. Not easy conditions as well - super humid - so I'm happy that I didn't let this affect me."
Later, fellow Pole Magda Linette completed a 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 6-3 upset against American fourth seed Jessica Pegula.
Swiatek will face Russian Anna Kalinskaya next, while Linette will be up against another Russian in Veronika Kudermetova.
