Match Week nine of the Ghana Premier League saw thrilling results and standout performances, with nine players awarded NASCO Man of the Match honours and receiving electronic prizes from sponsors NASCO. The games, which began on Friday in Tarkwa, wrapped up on Monday in Sogakope.
The week kicked off with Accra Hearts of Oak securing a convincing 2-0 away victory over Medeama in Tarkwa, with Salim Adams earning the NASCO Man of the Match award for his outstanding play.
In Sogakope, Accra Lions drew 1-1 with Samatex at the WAFA Park. Baba Salifu of Accra Lions was recognised as the NASCO Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
On Sunday, Nsoatreman drew 2-2 with Bechem United at the Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre. Abdul Rahman and Cudjoe scored for Nsoatreman, while an own goal by Emmanuel Abban added to Bechem’s tally. Walid Fusieni of Nsoatreman was awarded the NASCO Man of the Match.
In Bibiani, Gold Stars and Dreams FC played to a goalless draw despite a red card for Dreams FC in the first half. Frank Amankwah of Gold Stars was named NASCO Man of the Match.
Vision FC held Aduana Stars to a 0-0 draw in Tema, with Emmanuel Sanja earning the Man of the Match title.
At the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu, home team Karela United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nations FC, with Faisal Charwetey scoring the only goal. Eric Wiafe received the NASCO Man of the Match award.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko faced a surprising 1-0 loss to Kpando Heart of Lions in Obuasi, with former Hearts of Oak striker Obeng Junior scoring the lone goal and receiving the NASCO Man of the Match honour.
In Berekum, Berekum Chelsea drew 2-2 with the newly promoted Basake Holy Stars at the Golden City Park, where Sadat Zumah Ibrahim was awarded the NASCO Man of the Match.The final game of the week saw Legon Cities defeating Young Apostles 2-0 in Sogakope, thanks to goals from Dennis Adoma and Abdul Rahim Yaya. Aaron Quartey earned the NASCO Man of the Match award for his efforts.
