TWO of Ghana’s rising boxing stars, Samuel Takyi and Holy ‘Jaw-Breaker’ Dogbetor, are set to feature prominently in the first ACE Power Promotions (APP) Fight Night, scheduled for November 16 at the Centre Mall near Atomic Junction, Accra.
The event, dubbed “Street 2 Champions Fight Night”, aims to provide a platform for talented boxers to showcase their skills, with Takyi and Dogbetor taking centre stage against opponents yet to be announced.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APP, Isaac Amankwaah, revealed that the night would also feature some of Ghana’s best amateur fighters, promising an evening of thrilling action for boxing fans.
“Boxing has become a means to an end for many young people in coastal areas. We want to give them a purpose by using boxing as a catalyst," Amankwaah said.
"Through 'Street 2 Champions,' we aim to take these young people off the streets and away from social vices, giving them a sense of direction,” he added.
In addition to Takyi and Dogbetor, Africa Games gold medallist, Mohammed Aryeetey, will also feature, showcasing his skills to further energise the audience.
The Centre Point Mall is fully behind the initiative. The mall’s CEO, Mr Bhagwan Asnani, emphasised the event’s alignment with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals.
“Our team is ready for this event, and as part of our CSR efforts, we are committed to giving back to society,” Asnani stated.
“This event will not be an exception, and we are working tirelessly to ensure patrons get value for their money,” he added.
The November 16 event is expected to attract boxing enthusiasts from across the country, as Takyi, Dogbetor and Aryeetey look to continue their undefeated runs and further establish themselves as future champions.
