Everton have rejected a loan offer for striker Neal Maupay from Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The 28-year-old is into the last 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park and is out of favour under boss Sean Dyche, netting just once for the Toffees since signing from Brighton in August 2022.
The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Brentford, where he scored eight goals in 31 appearances.
He was named on the bench in Everton's 3-0 defeat by former club Brighton on Saturday, but is down in the pecking order behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Beto and the injured Youssef Chermiti.
English striker Calvert-Lewin is also into the final year of his deal at Goodison Park and is yet to sign an agreement, despite talks starting over a new contract at the end of May.
The Blues, meanwhile, are in talks to re-sign goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
