Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the association, and Sheikh Tophic Abdul-Kadir Sienu, a Division One League Board Member, have each been fined Gh¢24,000 and Gh¢12,000 respectively, and sentenced to one day in prison. 

Addo was held liable for comments made during interviews in his personal capacity, while Sienu was convicted for remarks posted on Facebook. 

The case was brought against the Executive Council Members of the GFA by Ashanti Gold FC for starting the 2022/2023 Premier League despite an interlocutory injunction.

The court held that the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, and 12 Executive Council Members were not served with the Injunction order, and hence were not in contempt of court.

According to the GFA's statement, Addo and Sienu did not serve their jail terms because they paid their fines before the presiding judge ended his sitting for the day.
