The President was aboard a Qatar Airways flight on Wednesday evening to Doha and is expected to watch some of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches before returning to Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo and his accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, H E Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro and the Ambassador of Ghana to Qatar Mohamed H E Noureddine Ismail.

His arrival is expected to serve as a boost to Coach Otto Addo's team who head into the tie as underdogs.

The Group H clash is expected to start at 4 pm (Ghana time). Uruguay and South Korea will face off in the other group clash at 1 pm.
