Hope Performance Tennis, a not-for-profit organization has donated tennis equipment to the Coach K Tennis Foundation, an NGO that aims at teaching vulnerable children in and around Korle-Gonno how to play tennis.
The donation was in response to the Coach K. Tennis Foundation’s call for support to organise their annual Kids Tennis Tournament which is scheduled for December.
The equipment donated on April 3, 2022, comprised of over 100 pre-owned tennis apparel, 10 tennis racquets and some tennis grips.
The Coach K Tennis Foundation is expected to distribute the equipment to the children as part of efforts to promote the development of the sport in the area.
In an interview, the Head of Programs and Projects of Hope Performance Tennis, Mr Giovanni Adinyira said, the donation is to ensure that junior tennis players enjoy the opportunity to further and improve their tennis training.
“Our core value as a foundation of empowering the next generation through tennis falls in line with what Coach K Foundation does," Mr Adinyira said.
"That’s the main reason we came in to support," Mr Adinyira added.
The items were received by the management team of Coach K. Tennis Foundation, including; Emmanuel Kevin Vanderpuye (President), Coach Kofi Inkoom (Director), Coach Quansah (Director and a National Coach, Hope Performance Coach) and Grasia Coffie (Director, Administration).
Mr Vanderpuye expressed his gratitude for the gesture to the President of Hope Performance Tennis, Enoch Godi and his entire management team, adding that the Coach K. Tennis Foundation was looking forward to more of such collaborations.
