Dutch-born Ghanaian teenager Jeremie Frimpong has been named as Glasgow Celtic's Young Player of the Year for 2019-2020.

Frimpong, 19, moved to Celtic Park from Manchester City last summer on a four-year deal and has grown to become one of manager Neil
Lennon's most trusted players.

The budding right-back polled 40 per cent of the total votes cast by Celtic fans to win the laurel ahead of team mates Kris Ajer and Odsonne
Edouard.

Frimpong has been in fine form this season for the Scottish champions, making 22 appearances in all competitions and scoring two goals with four assists.

He has already caught the eyes of several English teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Sheffield United. But Celtic have made it clear that he is one of their quality players for the future and would not sell him now.

Born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, Frimpong grew up in Manchester and is eligible to represent all the three countries --England, Ghana and the Netherlands -- at the senior level.

Currently, he plays for the Dutch under-21 national team.
