The overall winner in both the male and female category of the upcoming maiden Media Games, will take home a mouthwatering cash prize of GH¢10,000.00.
The event, aimed at fostering unity in the industry is organized by the Institute of Media Practice and it is billed for Saturday, August 17, at the El-Wak, would also see the winner going home with a giant trophy and goodies from sponsors.
In all about 500 media practitioners from several media houses and four other Journalism schools in the country would be taking part in the event.
In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr. Randy Akumiah Sekyi Programs Coordinator of Institute of Media Practice, said the event would be organized in collaboration with the National Sports Authority (NSA).
He said, it was to encourage unity among journalists, as well as win for themselves the bragging rights in sports amidst fun.
He disclosed that, about 15 Media houses and schools including the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Kencity Media, Media General, Ghanaian Times, Daily Guide, Metro TV, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Jayee University College, Africa University College of Communication and NAFTI have registered their participation in the event.
According to him, activities outlined include football, athletics, shot put, tug of war and volleyball.
Mr. Akumiah Sekyi added that, the Cantoment Police will be at the venue to ensure adequate security for the participants.
