Hall four of the Accra Technical University (ATU), has been crowned overall champions at this year’s Inter-Hall Games.
Hall Four, retained the title for the second year running as they toppled Hall one, Hall two and three in events such as, track and field, volleyball, basketball, chess, scrabble, table tennis, handball, badminton, among others.
Hall four were able to pull a total of 32 medals (19 gold, 10 silver, 3 bronze), while Hall three emerged second on the medal table, with a total of 36 medals (10 gold, 9 silver, 17 bronze), with Hall one placing third on the medal team winning 33 medals in total (9 gold medals, 12 silver, 12 bronze).
Hall two remained bottom of the medal after getting a total of 25 medals (5 gold, 12 silver, 8 bronze).
The overall best women’s team, went to Hall four, while Hall three also emerged the overall best men’s team at this year’s sports festival.
Prof. Edmund Ameko, Vice Chancellor of ATU, in his remarks at the closing ceremony, congratulated all participants in the games as well as the award winning athletes.
He also urged the student to keep themselves in good shape ahead of the Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) games which would be hosted in Accra, February next year.
Prof. Ameko remains confident of hosting and winning the games which according to him will lift the name of university.
