The late call up, was due to an injury to Kassim Nuhu in the German Bundesliga onn Saturday.

Nuhu, who plays for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, sustained an injury in a Bundesliga game against  Freiburg on Saturday.

TSG Hoffenheim have confirmed that Nuhu, sustained an ankle injury and would be out for four weeks, according a statement from Mr. Dan Kweku Yeboah, spokesperson for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Liaison Team.

It added that, defender John Boye also sustained a muscle injury whilst playing for French side, Metz in a league game and would be unavailable for the Black Stars game slated for Sunday, September 8, 2018 in Nairobi.

However, Boye would not be be replaced, according to the technical team.

The Black Stars would travel to Nairobi with a 20-man squad and would begin camping in Addis Ababa, from the 3rd-7th September.
