Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was taken into police custody on Monday and questioned over allegations of domestic violence against his former girlfriend, according to multiple reports in France.
The state prosecutor in the district of Meaux was cited as saying the 21-year-old was arrested in the Paris suburb of Chessy. Coman reportedly admitted the assault and was released later in the day.
The incidents in question allegedly occurred on Saturday and Monday in the France international's house, after Coman's former partner used his Instagram account in order to promote a sponsor in a post.
The case will be tried at the end of summer and Coman is expected to plead guilty, the reports said, with a verdict expected in September at the earliest.
His ex-girlfriend was injured in the attack and will be signed off of work for eight days.
Coman has lifted five domestic league titles in three different countries, winning Serie A at Juventus, Ligue 1 with PSG and the Bundesliga in successive seasons since joining Bayern in 2015 -- initially on a two-year loan deal, before the Bavarians made the deal permanent in April.
He is the second former PSG youth academy graduate to be arrested in the past year, after defender Antoine Conte was detained for allegedly attacking a teenager with a baseball bat and leaving him in a critical condition in December.
