Kelechi Iheanacho, who was named in the squad for the group stage, is still eligible. The Nigerian striker now meets the requirements to be named on UEFA's "List B" for players born after Jan., 1 1995 and who have been with the club for two years.

City face Ligue 1 side Monaco in the round of 16, and Guardiola confirmed he was going to include Toure, 33, in his squad last month.

The Ivorian played just once in the first three months of the season after Guardiola said he would not be selected for the first team following controversial comments from his agent Dimitri Seluk.

He apologised in November, returned to the side on Nov. 19 and has been a regular in the side ever since.

"He deserves to be in the Champions League in the second round," Guardiola said.

Gabriel Jesus, 19, who scored his first goal for the club in Wednesday's 4-0 victory at West Ham United, will be available to make his debut in the European competition when they play Monaco on Feb. 21 with the second leg away on March 15.
