A 75-year old member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged supporters of the various political parties to eschew intolerance and acts of provocation.
Opanin Kwame Agyei said they should accept to ensure some level of civility to calm tension as they all prepared for the struggle of political power in year 2012.
He said it was important they recognized that what voters wanted to hear from politicians was how they would deal with the development challenges of the nation and make life comfortable for them if given the mandate to rule.
Opanin Agyei, who is the local chairman of the NDC at Adanwomase in the Kwabre East constituency, was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Adanwomase on Thursday.
He underlined the need for all to sustain the unity and cohesion of the country, pointing out that there could not simply be any meaningful progress in an atmosphere of chaos and confusion.
He appealed to all Ghanaians to rally behind the Mills’ Administration as it worked hard to implement its “Better Ghana” agenda.
