Mr Alexis Ayamdor, an assemblyman, has suggested that experienced assembly members should be made District Chief Executives.
He told the GNA that an experienced assembly member, when made a DCE, could address issues relating to development of the Assembly.
Mr Ayamdor said the current practice of the President appointing District Chief executives was not helping the development of district and suggested that experienced Assembly members should be made to contest for the position of DCEs.
He said this would encourage assembly members to worker harder and also make the DCE to be more accountable to the electorate.
On the District Assembly election he said he was not happy about the shortage of materials and appealed to the Electoral Commission to prepare adequately to avoid future occurrence.
Mr. Ayamdor expressed regret about the low turnout of women contestants and appealed to the government to consider appointing more women the assemblies.
