The assembly member-elect for Kaasi. in Kumasi, Mr Charles Oduro Acheampong, has appealed to the people to unite solidly behind him to inject some pace into the development of the area.
He said they should avoid division and put the progress of the community ahead of personal interest.
He reminded them that the assembly concept was non-partisan and therefore they should all, irrespective of political affiliation, give him the necessary support, understanding and cooperation.
Mr Acheampong made the appeal when he, together with newly elected members of the Unit Committee, joined worshippers at the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at Kaasi on Sunday.
The Reverend Father Stephen Adu-Poku, the Parish Priest, urged the assembly member to be selfless, humble and accountable.
He said it was by so doing that he could continue to have the people by his side.
The Catholic Priest also asked the people to support their elected representative to enable him to achieve his development agenda.
