A 25-year old man, Kwame Amoah was on Friday
sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by a Circuit Court in Cape Coast for stealing six packs of fish and chicken valued at GH¢500.00
He pleaded guilty, amidst crying loudly and blaming the devil for his actions.
Prosecuting, Inspector Daniel Agbezuhlor said the complainant, Naana Aggrey operated a cold store at Twifo Praso and resided at North Ola a suburb of Cape Coast.
He said at about 0730 hours on December 5, the complainant gave three cartons of fish and three cartons of chicken to a driver at Twifo Praso for her store attendant to pick them up.
Inspector Agbezuhlor said the accused overheard the conversation between the driver and complainant and conspicuously trailed the goods and stole them.
The Presiding Judge, Mr Samuel Asare Nyarko admonished the convict to take up responsibility for his actions.
