The Tema Circuit Court 'A,' on Tuesday, remanded into prison custody, Felix Ametepey Addotey, a driver, for allegedly causing harm, and attempting to rob a sand and stone supplier at Oyibi.
Addotey was remanded, to re-appear in court on December 15.
He pleaded guilty with explanation to the first charge of attempted robbery, and not guilty to the charge of causing harm.
The court presided over by Mrs Laurenda Owusu, however, entered a plea of not guilty for him, on the attempted robbery charge.
Police Chief Inspector Adolphus Otchere, prosecuting, told the court that both Mr David Dzatta, the complainant, and the accused person have been residing at Oyibi for the past 12 years.
He said at about 05:30 hours on September 4, this year, the complainant was on his way to the Oyibi lorry station to join a vehicle to Accra, and subsequently, to Akatsi for a funeral.
The prosecution said the complainant, who was carrying a traveling bag containing mourning cloths, GH¢100 and his mobile phone, was suddenly attacked by Addotey and his accomplice about 10 meters to the lorry station.
Chief Inspector Otchere said a struggle ensued between the complainant and his attackers.
During the struggle, Addotey and his accomplice, who is now at large, removed a gun and shot at the right hand of the complainant.
The prosecution said the accused person informed his accomplice in the Ga language that "I know him, his name is David".
The court was told that Addotey and his accomplice fled when they failed to rob the complainant, who shouted for help.
Chief Inspector Otchere said sympathizers, who were attracted by the shouts for help took the complainant to the Oyibi Police Station, where a medical form was issued to him.
Addotey was arrested when the complainant later identified him, the prosecution concluded.
