A grenade explosion took place in the Rwandan
capital of Kigali on Wednesday, media reported on Wednesday.
The report said a police spokesman has confirmed it but did not provide details. The number of casualties was unclear so far.
It added that the explosion took place at 7:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) after the grenade had been thrown. The report came after the National Electoral Commission announced on Wednesday that Rwandan incumbent President Paul Kagame has
won re-election for a second term of seven years,
Kagame garnered 93 percent of the votes, winning 4,638,560 votes from a total of 5,178,492 registered voters in the central African country, the Rwandan National Electoral Commission (NEC) said.
