Bongo Constituency branch of the John Mahama Fan Club, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Dr. Nsoh Avea Ephraim as Minister designate for the Upper East Region.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Communication Director of the Fan Club, Mr Patrick Anamo, copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday.
It said: "We are grateful to the President for nominating Dr. Avea and we hope the Appointments’ Committee of Parliament will approve of his nomination so that he will use his rich experience as a lecturer and other leadership skills to advance the better Ghana Agenda".
The statement said: "The club wish to congratulate Dr. Avea for his nomination as Regional Minister designate for Upper East Region. We pray for him and know for a fact he has what it takes to develop the region. We wish him well".
It said since 1992, when Ghana returned to democracy, Bongo had not had its share of regional ministerial appointments despite the fact that it is part of the World Bank of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when it comes to election.
The Fan Club pledged to support Dr Avea if his nomination is approved by the committee.
