Chiefs from Akatsi North and South District Assemblies in the Volta Region on Thursday expressed grief over the death of the late Henry Ford Kamel, former Volta Regional Minister.
The chiefs, dressed in funeral apparel, praised the late Kamel when they paid a courtesy call on Mr Henry Ametefe, caretaker deputy Volta Regional Minister.
They eulogized the late Kamel as "development oriented."
Togbe Nyamekor Gakpe V, Paramount Chief for Ave-Dakpa who spoke on behalf of the chiefs, said they received the news of the death of Mr Kamel with great shock.
He said the Region had lost a gem and hoped the late Kamel would be given a befitting burial.
Togbe Gakpe pledged the readiness of Chiefs and people from the two districts to support the funeral.
Mr Ametefe expressed gratitude to the Chiefs for their sympathy and said the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council and the family of Mr Kamel were planning to ensure a well organized burial and funeral for him.
