The New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 Election Review Committee is set to embark on a nationwide visitation to the 276 constituencies across the country to engage with stakeholders.
The exercise, which commenced today in all 16 regions, is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the factors that influenced the party's performance in the 2024 elections.
A statement signed and issued by the Secretary to the committee, William Yamoah, requested regional and constituency executive committees of the party to coordinate and provide the necessary support to ensure the success of "this important exercise".
"Your cooperation and unwavering commitment to this process are critical to its success," the statement said.
It emphasised that the review process was crucial in strengthening the party's future, adding that the committee looks forward to working closely with stakeholders to achieve this goal.
It said to ensure the success of the exercise, the committee chaired by Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye has been divided into six teams, assigning each team to specific regions.
Other members of the team include Dr Joseph Agyapong Darmoe, Ambassador Kwaku Domfeh, Prof. Kofi Osei Akuoko, Dr Felix Yamoah and Emerita Prof. Yaa Ntiamoa-Baidu.
The rest are Prof. Samuel Bert, Abdulai Abanga, Seidu Nasigri, a legal practitioner, Eugenia Gifty Kusi, a former Member of Parliament (MP), and F. F. Antoh, a former Vice Chairman of the party.
The committee was established by the National Executive Committee of the party in January this year, to conduct a thorough post-mortem analysis of the party's defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The committee last week met with the leadership of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), the students’ wing of the party, the Council of Elders, and senior party officials, who specialise in security and intelligence.
The meetings were to gather diverse perspectives, address challenges encountered during the elections, and develop strategies to enhance the party's growth and success in future elections.
