The District Chief Executive for Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, Eric Kwaku Kusi, has appealed to the electorate to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power in the December 7 general election.
He said the NPP had initiated many policies and pursuing various infrastructure project to enhance economic growth and improve the wellbeing of the people, and therefore deserve continuity.
Speaking to The Ghanaian Times at Adokwai on the sidelines of the district farmers day celebration held here on Friday, Mr Kusi said the district had benefited from the reconstruction of at least 150 kilometres of road to open up the area to facilitate movement of goods and services to other parts of the country.
“Looking at the development projects and infrastructure going on in the district we deserve to be retained in power to continue with our good work, I urge the electorate to vote for our Presidential Candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and our parliamentary candidate and Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Amoako Asiamah,” he said.
“We have 33 communities, since 2017 when we came to power there is no single community in the district that is supposed to get road and it is not getting, go through the district you will see the contractors seriously working, every community has seen a project,” he said.
“We are fortunate to have a Member of Parliament who is the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, so through him the government has provided us with a lot of infrastructure, roads, security, what have you, the MP has done a lot for the constituency,” he added.
He mentioned some of the ongoing road reconstruction as Fomena town roads, Ahinsah roads Adokwai town roads, Akokere, Abadwum and the roads from Dompoase through Ahinsah, where the prison camp is, to Adokwai to link Bekwai Municipality.
Mr Kusi added that from 2017, the district had benefited from over 50 GETFund projects to improve access to education to empower the people and build the necessary human resources for socio-economic develop.
