Traditional rulers at Keta in the Volta Region have commended the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for his high moral principles as a leader.
They praised Dr Bawumia for upholding positive values, which were in line with their custom.
"We know the values you espouse and that you strongly uphold values of integrity, honesty and hard work," the Dufia of Kedzi, Togbui Acolatse V, stated on behalf of the chiefs, while welcoming Dr Bawumia to the Keta Constituency last Thursday as part of his tour of the Volta Region.
"These are our values here in Anlo. These are some of the values we also espouse and hold dear to our chest. So we share a common value," he stated.
Dr Bawumia’s tour formed part of his engagement with stakeholders on his agenda when he becomes President.
While praying for God's protection and success for Dr Bawumia so that "he can continue the good works he has started," he said the Vice-President’s good morals would catapult him to the top.
"We know this moral authority that you stand for will propel you exponentially to a formal authority and, in shaa Allah, as you always say, you shall," he stated.
"It is our prayer and the prayer of the gods that the Almighty continue to bless you and give you strength for the few weeks we have ahead of us so that we can have a very successful and peaceful election so that we can continue to feel the development that you have planned for this country and all your policies that you have for this country," he stated.
Togbui Acolatse expressed confidence in the policies Dr Bawumia was espousing and was hopeful he would implement them when he became President.
"We have been following keenly all your exploits and your message of bold solutions you have for the future of this country. We are excited and for us chiefs, our politics is all about development," said the Togbui Acolatse said.
"We know what you have done and continue to do. We believe God will continue to bless you so that you will continue the good works you have started,” he noted.
He acknowledged some of the programmes that Dr Bawumia had initiated and ''touched the lives of everybody."
"Every one of us, including chiefs are beneficiaries of some of your innovative ideas. We believe that the bold solutions that you are espousing will come to bear on us," Togbui Acolatse stated.
