Beatrice Annan, the spokesperson for John Dramani Mahama’s campaign, has expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) prospects of winning the December 7 general elections in Ghana.
In an interview on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Thursday, October 24, Beatrice Annan cited predictions from both domestic and international polling agencies, including Fitch, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and Global InfoAnalytics, all of which forecast an NDC victory.
Beatrice Annan explained that the NDC’s campaign is focusing on a different strategy this year, emphasizing direct voter engagement and building meaningful connections within local communities.
This approach, she stated, contrasts with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strategy and seeks to resonate more authentically with Ghanaians, addressing their needs and expectations for change.
She stressed that the NDC’s focus on grassroots engagement will be key in achieving victory, as it prioritizes understanding and addressing the concerns of ordinary Ghanaians. Instead of flashy rallies, Annan said, the NDC is committed to fostering a deep connection with voters to establish trust and credibility.
“Fitch, EIU, Global InfoAnalytics and all international polls are showing that the NDC is forming the next government and so we are not just campaigning, we are also putting in place structures to govern this country and some of these structures inform why we said we would appoint our ministers within 14 days because we are prepared and we will hit the ground running.
“Our strategy is not what the NPP thinks it is, we will take them by surprise. We are not doing the bussing during the big rallies you have seen the NPP do, we are doing more door-to-door in the various constituencies and at the polling stations and at the branch levels.”
