The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says the increasing number of Ghanaians turning to the NDC is due to the party's inclusive and non-discriminatory nature.
"For us in the NDC, we are a progressive party, which means we believe in unity and equality for all citizens of our nation," Mahama stated in a Facebook post after a successful campaign in Charia, located in the Wa West constituency of the Upper West Region.
He noted that Charia, a community that previously supported the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has now embraced "Mahama’s message of CHANGE."
According to Mahama, "Charia’s chiefs, NPP activists, and the youth are now saying, 'We are voting for Mahama and the NDC MP.'”
For him, the NDC does not discriminate based on origin or background, adding, "We are one and the same people."
