The chiefs and people of the Nchumuru and Nawuri Traditional Areas in the Kpandai District have urged the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to market his vision and policies to Ghanaians.
They acknowledged Dr Mahamadu Bawumia’s contribution to the design and implementation of transformational initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS), Agenda 111 hospitals and One District One Factory as evidence of a good leader.
"Your administration has demonstrated to the people of Kpandai that equity is a hallmark to you. Your mandate as a Vice-President brought significant development to the district," the chiefs noted.
They stated this in a joint address read on behalf of the people in the Kpandai District by the Paramount Chief of Nchumuru, Nana Bayimgne II, and the Paramount Chief of Nawuri, Nana Abuga-Aba l, when Dr Bawumia engaged key stakeholders in Kpandai as part of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign.
While commending Dr Bawumia for his vision and proposed policies, the chiefs and people pledged to show him "in due course" their appreciation of his desire to ensure a rapid and holistic development of the country leveraging on the brains and skills of Ghanaians.
The chiefs said the people of Kpandai were proud of him for the role he played as Vice-President in helping President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through policies implemented by the NPP government that addressed inequalities in the country.
“Kpandai has received a lot of development across the district in education, health, agriculture, among other areas. Kpandai Senior High School has two new storey classroom blocks and over 7,000 pieces of furniture and other classroom blocks across the district,” they stated.
Extolling the admirable character traits of Dr Bawumia, the chiefs encouraged the NPP flag bearer to "Continue to be who we know you to be. Your humility will send you far. Concentrate on your seventy-point vision for the country.
"Dr Digitalisation, once again we wish to assure you that we, as a people, will in due course demonstrate that Breaking the 8 is possible," they said.
