The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has delivered a rallying call for unity and action against apathy within the party, emphasizing that these factors are crucial for securing victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Mr. Mustapha made these remarks during the inaugural ceremonies of regional campaign teams for Greater Accra, Central, Western, and Western North regions.
In his address, Mr. Mustapha highlighted the significance of unity within the NPP, labeling it as the key to overcoming internal conflicts and apathy. He asserted that the NPP, being the largest political party in the country, has the potential to win every election if members can set aside differences and work collectively towards common goals.
The Youth Organiser expressed concern over instances where certain party members, constituency executives, and MMDCES were campaigning against parliamentary candidates from within the party. He deemed such behaviour as unacceptable, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the party's collective interests above individual agendas.
During the inauguration of the regional campaign teams, Mr. Mustapha reiterated the imperative nature of securing victory in the December elections, stating that defeat should not be an option for the NPP. He urged party members to be mindful of their actions towards each other, stressing that collaboration and unity are essential components for success.
Mr. Mustapha also referenced research indicating the NPP's favorable performance compared to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). He asserted that Ghanaians are averse to the prospect of the NDC and John Mahama returning to power, urging the campaign teams to capitalize on this sentiment and ensure a successful outcome in the upcoming elections.
