Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has asserted that he will be running for the Presidential race of the party when it opens nominations.
He made this statement during the “scoop” segment on GTV’s breakfast show.
Mr. Agyepong spoke passionately about his political ambition, stating that “I’ve indicated that I will be contesting the flag bearership position for the party and my passion is about the transformation of the Ghanaian citizens and the country as a whole”.
He added that if it takes someone else to help the country, he wouldn’t mind, but he believes that he will be a fine president of the Republic of Ghana because he has the determination, values and vitality to drive the country to a changed one in the near future.
Upon being asked what he will do differently in his first 100 days in office if he is sworn in as president, Mr. Agyepong said, “stemming down the government is very vital because when you have a slim government, you can easily have a handle on it and it is a signal to the Ghanaian people that you’re tightening your own territory.”
He added that the transport ministry has many ministries out of it and will be cut down amongst other ministries if he is elected as President.
