A pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth group, Alpha Patriots, has pledged to mobilize its 16,000 members across Ghana to enable the party to achieve its ‘Breaking the Eight’ target.
The group indicated its resolve to campaign massively and secure over 25,000 votes for the NPP in the 2024 general elections.
At the official launch of the group in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, National President of Alpha Patriots, George Kwarteng, explained that the aim of the group is to build a very active youth to campaign and support the NPP to continue to stay in power.
He said his members believed that it was only the NPP that could run the affairs of the country with its youth-centered policies like the Free SHS, the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), and the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP).
He charged members of the group to go all out and propagate the policies of the NPP government to the people of Ghana and not wait until elections get closer.
“Our membership keeps growing day in day out across the country and our target is to get the NPP 25,000 votes by the end of the 2024 elections. That is our target,” he said.
Mr. Kwarteng also urged members of the group to remain hard-working and be active in politics, so they can also climb to a high pedestal to occupy key positions in the party.
The founder of Alpha Patriots, Kwabena Ampofo Appiah indicated that the youth play a critical role in helping any political party win power in Ghana and the NPP, as a political party that believes in democracy, sees the youth as the future of this country.
He explained that he expects members of the group to be poised, energized, and activated to be able to start the campaign to propagate the policies of the NPP government to the masses.
Mr. Ampofo Appiah added that they will roll out training workshops in entrepreneurship, IT, and leadership to build the capacities of the members of the group to make them ready for the party’s transformational agenda.
“With all the youthful policies of this government, we are rallying the youth to project the progress that the NPP has made since we took over in 2017”.
Other speakers at the event called on members of the group to remain united, loyal, and work hard for the party to retain power in 2024.
Dignitaries present at the event included; Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency(YEA), Justin Kodua Frimpong, Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Kingsley Agyemang, Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako Mensah, Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP, Francis Adomako and other leading members of the NPP.
