Mrs Janet Tulasi Mensah, Ga East Municipal Chief has called on the residents in the municipality to do away with an indiscipline lifestyle and support Mr Henry Quartey, Greater Accra Regional Minister in his bid to 'Make Accra Work agenda'.

She said the Regional Minister's vision to Make Accra Work could not be achieved without the support of the residents.

Mrs Mensah was speaking in an address read on her behalf at the celebration of the Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of Haatso near Dome in the Ga East municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

'We all remember the disaster that struck the nation on June 2015 and the resolve of the President to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa', she said adding that it is in this spirit that the Regional Minister is embarking on a series of activities to ensure our cities and communities are clean.

'So let us support him to achieve this vision and also stop building indiscriminately on water ways which results in flooding and also be disciplined in everything we do to achieve this vision".

The Municipal Chief Executive said the Assembly had recorded cases of rabies and the surge of bird flu which had claimed two lives and 2000 birds respectively and called on the residents to seek the support of veterinary experts for advice.

Nii Armah Sogblah IV, Haatso Mantse commended the Regional Minister for his efforts in making sure sanity and discipline prevailed in the region.

He recounted that there had been several good initiatives by the government that faded with time because the system had been compromised with politics adding that any nation that did not enforce its laws or get its systems to work was bound to fail.
