A cholera outbreak has killed 83 people in Niger, where authorities have recorded more than 2,300 cases since 13 March.

Six out of Niger’s eight regions have been affected by the outbreak, which has been worsened by floods.

A cholera epidemic was officially declared on 9 August by Health Minister Idi Illiassou Mainassara.
