Ghanaians have been advised to develop a positive attitude towards issues bothering on the nation’s development aspirations.

Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso, said nation building was a shared responsibility between the government and the governed.

Therefore, the citizenry were expected to demonstrate patriotism, hard work, selflessness and honesty in their respective fields of endeavour to increase productivity in all sectors of the economy.

They should not sit on the fence and criticize unnecessarily, the MP advised, saying all must be involved in the development processes for accelerated growth.

Dr. Nyarko, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, said the recent call by a section of the citizenry dubbed ‘Fix the Country’, demanded the contributions of everybody in the successful execution of the nation’s development agenda.

He rallied the people to be supportive of the various pro-poor programmes and policies intended to alleviate the plight of the people.

“If every Ghanaian decides to exhibit the duties of a good citizen as enshrined in Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution, there is no way the country will not develop and succeed,” the MP observed.

The Article enjoins the people to foster the spirit of loyalty to the nation, while promoting the culture of political tolerance.

According to the MP, while Ghanaians were demanding good governance from the Nana Akufo-Addo-led Administration, they must also endeavour to eschew all acts that compromised nation building.

Honouring one’s tax obligation, protecting the environment, demonstrating hard work and avoiding corrupt practices were some of the core responsibilities of the Ghanaian, he noted.
