A man has been shot dead in Moundou, in southern Chad, according to media reports, amid protests against the country's ruling military council.

A woman has has also died in the capital N'Djamena, a prosecutor has been quoted as saying.

She was in a bus that was attacked by protesters, according to N'Djamena prosecutor Youssouf Tom.

The opposition coalition called for the demonstration despite a ban on protests.
