Ethiopia is rolling out new banknotes in a move that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says will curb financing of illegal activities and corruption.
The new designs for the 10, 50 and 100 denominations were unveiled along with the introduction of a new 200 denomination note.
Mr Abiy tweeted the new look banknotes. He said they have enhanced security features to combat production of counterfeit notes:

It is not clear if the old notes will be withdrawn immediately from circulation.
Ethiopia celebrated the start of the New Year on Friday.
