Ugandan police have arrested the president's Special Envoy for Ghetto Affairs Mark Bugembe - a musician also known by his stage name Bucha Man - after he disrupted a meeting convened by a government agency.
Mr Bugembe said he was not consulted about the meeting in the Makindye district of the capital, Kampala, held by environment officials who were assessing damage caused by Lake Victoria's rising water levels.
When the presidential envoy turned up with a group of rowdy youths, police seized and detained him:

President Museveni appointed Mr Bugembe in October 2019 as part of an effort to galvanise support in the capital's slums, although State House Controller Lucy Nakyobe later said the musician had not been vetted or approved by the public service commission.
President Museveni also appointed another singer, Catherine Kusasira, as his adviser on Kampala matters.
Both appointments are seen as an attempt to rival the popularity of the opposition MP and presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.
