Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo is in self-isolation and performing official duties through video conferencing, according to his spokesperson Laolu Akande.
The West African country announced two new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total number to 46. There are fears the numbers could rise.
Nigeria's Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the two new cases involve people who had returned to the country in the last seven days.
Mr Akande said the vice-president was observing social distancing and following protocols outlined by the NCDC.
He tweeted a photo of Mr Osibanjo taking part in a video conference:
VP Osinbajo yesterday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing. Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols.
