The third edition of this Social Media Week organised by Interactive Digital and Touchpoint Magna Carta has been launched in Accra.
The event seeks to bring together stakeholders to discuss on how to use social media as a tool to promote and develop businesses.
The event is scheduled to start from September 25 to 27 in Accra is on the theme "With Great Influence Comes Great Responsibility".
Various sessions will be held at the Accra Mall, DSTV office, Accra Digital Centre and Silverbird cinemas.
Mr Kofi Asante, the General Manager of Interactive Digital, said this year's event would provide brands, agencies, and tech businesses platform to share ideas, best practices and emerging trends with marketing professionals and Entrepreneurs.
He said the theme explores how social media had become the most influential storytelling platform for brands, both individual and corporate.
Mr Ekow Thompson, the Executive Director of Interactive Digital, said the platform would enable participants to discuss ways of controlling the use of social media platform for responsible journalism.
This, he said, was necessary because social media empowers society and there is the need to ensure it was used wisely without compromising the ethics of journalism.
Madam Natalie Annan, the Project Coordinator for the event, said some of the activities lined-up include masterclasses facilitated by experts in various fields, panel discussions, film screenings, podcast sessions and exhibitions.
