All the 27 members voted yes in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

She thanked the assembly and pledged to work with everybody to speed up the socio-economic development of the place.

She asked that they all accepted to put the general good, ahead of any other consideration, saying “we should be on the same page when it comes to important decisions on the progress of our district”.

She promised to give it her all - be diligent, open and accountable, in everything she did.

She appealed to the chiefs and people to give strong backing to the assembly in the implementation of its development agenda.Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom, the Member of Parliament for the area, applauded the political maturity and sense of unity of purpose demonstrated by the assembly members and expressed optimism that together, they were going to transform and make things better for the people.

He said it was also refreshing that AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine would soon bounce back to provide employment for the youth.
