The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Okere Constituency has retained its executive members at the end of polling held at the Methodist Church at Adukrom.
In a process conducted by the Electoral Commission, Mr Adu Mante, the Chairman of the Election Committee, said at the close of nomination only 10 people filed to participate in the process and all of them stood unopposed.
He said this suggests that peace and unity prevails in the party and urged the delegates to continue to work hard to help to spread the good initiatives being implemented by government.
Mr Dan Botwe, Member of Parliament for Okere and Mr Abankwa Yeboah, NPP National Treasurer were among the hundreds of party faithful who thronged the venue to witness the event.
At the end of proceedings, Mr William Owiredu Kwanor, Chairman, Dr Kwame Henaku Larbi, First Vice Chair, Mr Abraham Tawiah Second Vice Chair, Madam Stella Nyarko, Women’s Organizer, Justice Yaw Mensah, Organizer and Hudu Haruna, Nasara Coordinator retained their positions.
Others were Mr Richard Maglo, who moved from Assistant Secretary to become the Secretary, Christian Nana Ayisi Nyinaku who moved from Youth Organizer to become the Assistant Secretary whiles Madam Juliana Mdenye and Mr Sintim Misa moved from Polling Station Chair positions to become the Treasurer and Youth Organizer respectively.
Addressing the delegates, Mr Botwe, the MP and Minister for National Re-organization and Development, commended the party for the peaceful manner in which they conducted the elections and described it as a model constituency.
He said in order to strengthen the party at the grassroots level all delegates and polling station executives would undergo a training programme to boost their capacities.
Mr Botwe said from 2006, the NPP has made significant progress in terms of election results and urged the polling station executives and party supporters to work hard to consolidate the gains made.
They were later sworn into office by Mr Abankwah Yeboah.
