Students of Osagyefo Leadership International School (OLIS) held its annual festival of nine lessons and carols on Thursday to herald the Christmas festivities.
The carols were interspersed with scriptural readings by the students and the Headmistress of the school in English, Ga, Twi and French to glorify God for His protection over the years and to reaffirm belief in the birth of Jesus Christ.
Some of the songs were Silent Night, Joy to the World, Hark Hark as well as poetry recitals, fashion show and cultural display.
Ms Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, Executive Director of OLIS urged parents to team up with the school authorities to develop the potentials of their children.
She said parents should not use the Christmas season for merry making only, but see it as a time to cause their children to make a difference in the society by encouraging them to study.
She said the school had, since its inception, believed in the potential development of the child to have positive impact on the society.
Ms Cobbah asked the children to respect authorities especially their parents as the Bible encouraged them to do so to live longer.
She asked them to combine school and home knowledge to develop mentally and spiritually to make it in life.
Mrs Phillis Eduful, Headmistress of the school, advised parents to devote more time with their children, especially during the festive season to ensure their safety and obedience to authority.
She said Christmas signified love and, therefore, asked parents to offer more affection to the young ones in all aspects, including the provision of their basic needs.
OLIS was established in 2008 to promote and build leadership in its pupils, as well as achieve total development of children by nurturing them into bold, responsible and integrity-driven people in the society.
