UN Secretary-general Ban Ki- moon strongly condemned on Tuesday a recent attack on UN-African Union peacekeepers in Sudan's Darfur region, which killed two Rwandan soldiers.
"The secretary-general placed on record his strong condemnation of the Dec. 5 attack, the
second in two days, on troops from the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID)," Ban's press office said in a statement.
The second attack took place at Shangil Tobaya in North Darfur, where the UNAMID troops were providing water to local civilians.
Two blue helmets from Rwanda were killed and another peacekeeper was wounded as a result of the ambush.
