A 22-year-old tailor who held a 14 year-old girl hostage after defiling her was on Wednesday sentenced to seven years' imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.
Baba Issaka pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement and the court convicted him.
The prosecutor, Inspector Anthony Afetsi, told the court presided over Mrs. Georgina Mensah Datsa that on November 23 the convict who lives at Tuba,
near Weija in Accra, saw the victim who had been sent by her mother at about 1830 hours.
The prosecution said Issaka called the victim into a kiosk, stripped her naked and had sex with her.
When the victim tried to scream, prosecution said, Issaka pulled out an iron rod and asked her to shut up else he would hit her with it.
Inspector Afetsi said after Issaka had completed his lustful desire, he failed to allow the victim to go home until the following day.
When the victim arrived home she informed her father about her ordeal and he lodged a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit
(DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service at Odorkor.
